K&W NanoTechnology Permanent Head Gasket & Block Repair, 32 fl. oz. (401232) Reviews

(401232) The two reviewers that say it didn't work in their cars need a bottle of "get a clue". Seriously, if your car is leaking coolant through the exhaust and blowing white smoke as soon as you turn it on, your seals are gone. This stuff will NOT create new seals. My 2000 grand am GT was leaking coolant I believe from the lower intake gasket. So much so (about a bottle a week) that I had resorted to just using plain old water which is bad and will rust out your radiator. Anyway I followed the instructions to the letter. Yes, removing the thermostat sucks but I did it. And I flushed the hell out of it to get all traces of coolant (and rust out) even though I was already only using water. Put the stuff in and idled for about 30 min. Let it dry for 15 hrs. flushed again. Replaced thermostat (might as well put in a new one... they are pretty cheap) and filled with Coolant. 1 week later ...... Still no leaks!!!!! Like the other guy said "I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it myself." Now I... (401232) My Dodge shadow blew a head gasket, I could not afford the money the mechanics stated it would take to fix it and I sure could do it myself if I had more muscle and more time, but Im a 51 year old Lady, a hands on kind of gal who dont worry about getting my hands greasy. My other car is a thunderbird and my dodge shadow is my extra car, my "just in case" car. Anyway the radiator went bad, replaced it but not before the damage was done, the headgasket had blown through to the water jacket.I drained my car and refilled it with plain water several times, and drained it again to make sure ALL THE ANTIFREEZE was out of the engine and the block. IF YOU DONT DO THIS IMPORTANT STEP, it will work just like it did on the guys lexus. It will not work in the presence of anti-freeze. I got a milk jug cleaned out and poured the ocntents of the nanotechnology into it filling it the rest of the way with HOT TAP WATER, just like the instructions said, REMOVED THE THERMOSTAT,... (401232) Without being to lengthy in words, I came home from having coffee and noticed my car running like it needed a tune up and in my rear view mirror I had noticed white smoke. Stepping out of the car and looking at the smoke I had observed antifreeze spraying on the ground. I checked my radiator and found it almost empty. I followed the instructions to the letter and my car dumped this product out of the tail pipe too. All I can say is it depends on how big you leaky gasket is. It didn't do what all the promises on the back said. If you ever noticed you're losing antifreeze somewhere and you checked everything, put it in before it get real bad or it won't work. |

Bar's Leaks 1100 Head Gasket Repair - 20 oz. Reviews
15 of 15 people found the following review helpful ![]() Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Bar's Leaks 1100 Head Gasket Repair - 20 oz. (Automotive) The background:1998 Toyota Camry. Engine was rough, sputtering, heating up, losing power (compression) when it became hot. White smoke from tailpipe. No acceleration when I press the gas pedal. Coolant in Oil. Mechanic Analysis: Engine is bad. Head gasket is blown. Recommended junking the car. Otherwise, replacing the engine with one from car in junk yard for $3,000 or replacing the head gasket and rebuilding the engine for $1,800. Last ditch: Used one bottle of Head Gasket Repair purchased from Amazon. Followed instruction carefully. Results: Initially the engine was very rough. Gradually smoothened down after three days and 40 miles driving. Now, 6 weeks later and 700 miles later, the engine is humming and running like new. All previous bad signs have disappeared. Don't know how long it will last. This car is running on borrowed time. Even six months will be great for the $25 investment. 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful ![]() By This review is from: Bar's Leaks 1100 Head Gasket Repair - 20 oz. (Automotive) I bought this from a local auto parts store, not on amazon.com, and I was skeptical, but hey 10 bucks vs. $2000+ to replace the head gaskets on my '93 Acura Legend. I followed the directions precisely - Yes it was a pain, but I followed them. The main thing is to flush out ALL the anti-freeze from the engine... ALL OF IT! That goes for this product and every other one that I saw on the shelf and the internet... Otherwise you will clog your cooling system or heater core or both (or worse).I used a Prestone Flush Kit that was 4 bucks and installed that to Prestone's instructions. I drained the radiator, then flushed the system, and drained the radiator again (and yes, there was still anti-freeze in it even after flushing). SO I stuck a hose in the radiator top with the drain open, and then flushed for a 3rd time and re-filled and drained the radiator yet again... now I know there was no anti-freeze in the car - anywhere. I FOLLOWED THE BAR'S LEAK GASKET REPAIR exactly... Read more 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful ![]() By This review is from: Bar's Leaks 1100 Head Gasket Repair - 20 oz. (Automotive) About six months ago, the pulley on my power steering came off which caused the serpentine belt to fly and resulted in an instant overheating of my vehicle (A 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, notorious for over heating anyway!). A few weeks later, coolant was missing, the heater was blowing cold air, and it felt like one of my cylinders wasn't firing since idle was REALLY rough (but slightly improved with speed). A bit of research and some friendly advise from my mechanic friends: Head Gasket, maybe a cracked head. Honestly, I don't REALLY know what a cracked head REALLY means, but I know it was really bad and you just don't throw the words "HEAD GASKET" around unless you mean it.So I borrowed a coworker's car while I priced engine replacement from a junk yard for DYI (Which turned into YEAH RIGHT) and mechanic's rebuild/repair. I wasn't willing to shell out the $1500+ on a car that was worth about the same. I then saw an advertisement for a liquid Gasket Repair and this lead... Read more |
